SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS
Supplemental funds are awarded to University-certified organizations that will foster the academic and professional development of graduate and professional students at the University of Pittsburgh. Towards this goal, GPSG offers financial assistance to organizations to offset costs of events or projects. Supplemental Funds may be used for any aspect of events such as:
-
Public Lectures
-
Conferences
-
Moot Court Trials hosted by the University of Pittsburgh
These funds may not be used to purchase alcohol or host political candidates.
Organizations may apply for supplemental funding multiple times, although an organization can only receive supplemental funds once during a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Supplemental funding requests are approved either fully or partially; conditionally or unconditionally; or they can be denied, taking into consideration the extent to which the activity promotes departmental, interdisciplinary, and University-wide interests, student involvement, and academic/professional advancement.
Please Note: Forms are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications should be turned in three weeks before the event and advertised through GPSG no later than 2 weeks before the event. No retroactive funding will be approved. Your organization must be SORC certified!
Please read the GPSG Supplemental Fund Manual prior to applying for supplemental funds. This document will provide a guideline of how each request will be processed.
