Composed of five elected graduate and professional students, the Executive Board makes the day-to-day of student government happen. Their responsibilities include:

Advocating for graduate and professional students within and outside the University

Setting the agenda for the Assembly Board and acting upon the Assembly Board's direction

NAYRAA SETHI
President
The President is the chief representative and coordinator for graduate and professional students, keeping graduate student voices organized, heard, and connected to decision‑makers. The President runs Assembly Board meetings, communicates student priorities and decisions to University administration and outside groups, and represents students on key University committees. The President must stay accessible to students through office hours and meetings, and make sure everything transitions smoothly to the next President.

VP of Committees
KENNEDY SHORT
The VP of Committees makes sure graduate and professional students have a seat at the table across the University. This role tracks all the university‑wide committees where GPSG has representation, fills vacancies, keeps the Assembly Board informed about who is serving where, and makes sure important committee information gets back to students. They step in or find temporary representatives when seats are empty, maintain reporting systems, chair the GPSG Bylaws Committee, and regularly report their work to the Assembly Board and the President. In short, this role ensures student representation is organized, informed, and continuous, even when transitions or gaps happen.

SARAH PEABODY
VP of Communications
The VP of Communications is responsible for keeping graduate and professional students informed, engaged, and connected by managing GPSG’s branding, messaging, social media, website, and email communications. They promote events, services, and announcements, lead the Public Relations Committee, publish e‑bulletins, and help foster a sense of community among graduate students and student organizations. This role also involves coordinating with other officers, representing GPSG on relevant university committees when needed, maintaining technical and IT‑based communication tools, and ensuring a smooth handoff of all communication systems to the next VP at the end of the term.

SHIVANGI SINGH
VP of Finance
The VP of Finance is the financial steward for GPSG. This role manages and tracks all student‑government funds, authorizes payments and reimbursements after approval, and makes sure every expense is accurately recorded and aligned with university records. They lead the annual budgeting process, work closely with committees and other officers to plan spending, and provide transparent budget reports to the Assembly Board so everyone knows where the money is going. The role also oversees travel grants and supplemental funding, chairs the Finance Committee, meets regularly with administrators to reconcile budgets, and ensures all financial systems, records, and procedures are clearly handed off to the next VP of Finance.

PUJA HALDER
VP of Programming
The VP of Programming plans and runs GPSG events that bring graduate and professional students together. This role organizes social, professional, and service activities, makes sure they’re well planned, accessible, and responsive to student interests, and oversees everything from budgeting to ticketing and attendance. They chair the Event Planning Committee, coordinate closely with the VP of Communications to promote events, handle logistics with venues and vendors, and respond quickly to student feedback or requests. Overall, this role ensures GPSG events are engaging, inclusive, and smoothly executed, while keeping the Assembly Board and President informed and making sure all event systems are passed along to the next VP.

SUPPORT

ZENA KESSELMAN
Executive Administrator
The Executive Administrator is a hired Graduate Student Assistant that handles the logistics behind Assembly Board meetings by preparing and distributing agendas, arranging food, and managing communications between the Assembly Board and Executive Board. They play a central role in annual elections and support EB officers with administrative tasks. The EA maintains regular office hours, tracks attendance and absence requests, ensures compliance with university employment policies, and provides consistent reporting to the President and EB. Overall, this role makes sure the organizational, procedural, and administrative pieces of GPSG function reliably and are properly handed off to the next EA.
